What heals me, other than the obvious being God. Is fellowship, community, and service. The amazing people I have met in the past two and a half months. The kindness humanity has shown. The empowered women I strive to be like. Authors and founders and professors and photographers and jewelers and bloggers and advocates and healthcare professionals; all fellow servants, encouragers, sisters, and mothers. Mothers not in the limited definition we know them to be. But nurturers. Tenders to the wounds of others. Compassionate, humble, powerfully beautiful women. I've seen so little cattiness and so much mutual respect and decency. It's a whole new world of people doing things they love, while honoring the people they love. It is such a positive community. Not all are bereaved. But all are genuine and all are overcomers. What heals me? Is us. And the boundless possibilities that come thereby. Today's picture is of Joislen's area at her grandma and God mom and cousins and uncle's house, our home in FL. I cannot believe she means so much to family that never even got to really know her as much as I did, which was also limited. But she means so much to them. And you guys? The strangers who have told me how special my girl is? That is so humbling. That is so real. To hear my daughter's name. That heals me. #joislengrace #captureyourgrief #joislen #whathealsyou
