Day 5: empathy

Oct 5, 2015

This is a picture of my gorgeous niece, taken by now I lay me down to sleep (bereavement photographers) while at the hospital the day she got to meet her baby cousin and God sister. I chose this picture for today, because if you want to know about empathy. Emulate a child: Genuine. Caring. And selfless. Empathy is "the ability to understand and share the feelings of another." To empathize is to listen. To put yourself in their shoes. Not to compare your own situation or think about yourself. In empathy you don't need the answers. Just to encourage whatever the person needs. And to help the person in whatever way you can. I am usually on the giving end of empathy. But in this season. I needed it, in heaps. I received so much kindness from so many people. and that was a critical part for healing.
